Nicely put together CD of various blues artists who played the Newport Folk Festival during the the early to mid 60's. Especially love the songs by Muddy Waters, Dave Van Ronk, and The Paul Butterfield Blues band. One surprise is the Chambers Brothers last minute performance of See See Rider.5/5(3).

" Blues with a Feeling " is a blues song written and first recorded by Rabon Tarrant with Jack McVea and His All Stars in , as the B-side of "Slowly Goin' Crazy Blues". Although the original release was commercially unsuccessful, the song later became an important hit for Little Walter, with whom it is usually identified.

Blues musicians are musical artists who are primarily recognized as writing, performing, and recording blues music. They come from different eras and include styles such as ragtime-vaudeville, Delta and country blues, and urban styles from Chicago and the West Coast. In the last several decades, blues music has developed a less regional character and has been influenced by rhythm and blues.

David Dicaire, More Blues Singers: Biographies of 50 Artists from the Later 20th Century (McFarland, ), pp. Don't ever forget where the blues came from, or why. Never forget why you play the blues; if it was to make big money, you probably won't. Two of "13 bits of advice for musicians from Mr. Downchild himself".
