    Mar 20,  · one of my all time favorite german psychedelic rock albums. it is more reminiscent of the straight up traditional psychedelic blues type sound of the late 60's. very accessible, and doesn't really go for anything groundbreaking, but that is in no way a bad thing. and that is also not to say that their compositions are in any way boring. many unique ideas, and very well done musicianship, with /5(17).

    It appears I'm the first one to review a Cravinkel album. Okay then! Not many completely obscure bands come along and positively *blow me away* like Cravinkel does. Does the band do anything particularly innovative or different from other rock bands that came about in the early 70's? No, not really. Of course none of that matters in the slightest/5(3).

    The eponymous first Cravinkel album featured blues-folk-rock tracks with slightly psychedelic influences, more or less similar to the first album by Spooky Tooth. The band was signed by label Philips, which offered them recording facilities in the IBC Studios in London. The recordings, made in August , were released at the end of the year.

    Heaven is a stoned acid folk ballad including acoustic guitar tricks, bucolic percussions and pop-ish vocals. Candlelight, Lonsome Road and Hidden Love are catchy-playful country-like rockin songs. A mellow sounding album with no real personal characteristics. social review comments | .

    Jan 27,  · ‘Cravinkel’, the band’s self-titled debut album features ten short tracks, none of which top four minutes. The music is a fairly straightforward groovy Anglo rock sound augmented with blues, country, folk, and psych. The album has three standout tracks, 'Two Circles’, 'Lonesome Road’ and 'Smiles’.
